Hi, I'm Tien Marie Hearth

I didn’t mean to start a spice business - but here we are.

It began during the pandemic, right after I moved to Virginia. Friends and family back in California missed my cooking, so I made a few homemade spice blends as Christmas gifts. I thought it would be a tasty one-time project.

It wasn’t.

Everyone emptied their jars and begged for refills. They told me I wasn’t allowed to stop. Every year I created new blends, and every year the requests grew louder.

“Please,” they said. “Sell these already.”

Fast-forward five years, multiple life detours, many test batches later, and here we are: Love at First Spice is finally real. A tiny homegrown business with big dreams.

I’m starting small and local, because the best things grow from care and intention, and I want this business to matter in the place I now call home - Harrisonburg, Virginia.

But my vision reaches farther than flavor. I want Love at First Spice to make everyday cooking easier and more delicious, where the simple act of sharing a meal can bring people closer together.

This business is rooted in feeding the people we love, supporting the community we live in, and leaving the world a little better than we found it. I want Love at First Spice to invest in our community, build meaningful partnerships, and become a company that gives back to the world that sustains it.

Every jar is made with intention, creativity, and a belief that food is one of the most important ways we care for each other.
